Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse | | Morgan Davis, Assistant Dir. Athletic Communications

Schilli and Ott Lead Loggers

TACOMA, Washington (March 15, 2025) – The Loggers (2-5) battled hard but ultimately fell to the California Lutheran University Regals (5-3), 21-8, in a game where the CLU's dominance in draw controls and offensive efficiency proved too much to overcome.

Despite the loss, UPS saw standout performances from Cat Schilli and Maggie Ott, who kept the Loggers' offense alive throughout the contest. Schilli led the team with five goals on nine shots, capitalizing twice on free-position attempts and finding success attacking the net. Her ability to exploit CLU's defensive lapses, particularly after penalties, gave UPS much-needed scoring opportunities. Ott complemented Schilli's efforts with a hat trick and an assist, displaying sharp shooting and strong movement in transition.

The Regals, however, controlled possession for much of the game, winning 21 draw controls to UPS's 10, allowing them to dictate the tempo. The Loggers struggled to contain the Regals' three biggest offensive threats: Malina Diaz (7 goals, 1 assist), Madison Soforenko (6 goals, 1 assist), and Sydney Shin (4 goals, 2 assists), who combined for 17 of CLU's 21 goals.

Despite the tough loss, UPS will look to capitalize on their offensive strengths as they prepare to take on Pacific University. The game is scheduled for March 28th at 1pm at Peyton Field.
