Loggers Roll Past Boxers

TACOMA, Washington (March 28, 2025) - The Loggers (3-5, 1-0 NWC) secured a decisive 12-7 win over Pacific University (2-6, 0-1 NWC), marking their first conference victory of the season.

Attacker Maggie Ott led the Loggers' offense with a stellar four-goal performance, finding the back of the net at crucial moments to keep Puget Sound ahead. Michaela Chen added two goals and secured five draw controls to help maintain possession and drive the attack forward. Additional goals were scored by Cat Schilli (2), Hailey Woodard (1), and Kylie Sullivan (1), showcasing the Loggers' balanced offensive depth. Schilli also played a key role in controlling possession, earning six draw controls and collecting two ground balls.

Defensively, Puget Sound disrupted Pacific's rhythm by forcing 15 turnovers, making it difficult for the Boxers to build momentum. Goalie Phoebe Crowther stood strong in net, recording nine saves and shutting out the Boxers in the third quarter, a pivotal stretch that helped the Loggers pull away for the win.

Puget Sound outshot the Boxers 28-20, consistently applying offensive pressure. Their dominance in the midfield was clear, winning 13 draw controls compared to Pacific's 9, which allowed them to dictate possession and tempo throughout the game. Further, Pacific's numerous penalties throughout the game disrupted their offensive flow and provided additional scoring opportunities for the Loggers, who capitalized on the advantage to extend their lead.

The Loggers will return to Peyton Field in Tacoma on April 5th and 6th, as they take on Linfield and Willamette. Games are set to start at 1pm.
