TACOMA, Wash. – Despite a three-run effort in the fourth inning, Puget Sound (7-8, 1-4) fell to George Fox (9-8, 3-2) by a score of 14-3 in the first of two Saturday games. While the Loggers had moments of success with five total hits, the Bruins triumphed with 16 hits on 34 at-bats.

Mikayla Johnson led the offense, recording two of their five total hits, including a two-run home run in the fourth inning.
Through the third inning, the Bruins tallied five runs, extending their two-run lead over the Loggers. They continued their offensive momentum in the sixth inning, adding five more.

Nyomi Estrada (4.0 IP, 8 ER, 11 H) was unable to contain the Bruins' offense, and relief pitcher
Alison Madia (2.0 IP, 5 ER, 5 H) faced similar challenges. The Loggers' defense also recorded two errors.
In game two, Puget Sound fell once again, losing 9-0 to the Bruins.

Nyomi Estrada (5 IP, 5 ER, 7H) closed out the remainder of the game with two strikeouts.
The Bruins tallied 12 hits on 25 at-bats for nine runs while freshman pitcher Nicole Ledendecker (5 IP, 0 ER, 1 H) picked up eight strikeouts versus the Logger batters.
The Loggers will face George Fox in their second double header of this weekend beginning tomorrow morning at 11:00 a.m., with game two to follow at 1:00 p.m.
