TACOMA, Wash. -- The Logger dropped to 0–2 in Northwest Conference play after a tough 20–0 loss to Willamette. The Bearcats came out firing and never let up, showcasing their offensive depth and defensive pressure from the opening whistle.
Willamette wasted no time establishing control, with five different players scoring in the first quarter alone. After 15 minutes of play, the Bearcats held a commanding 8–0 lead. Leading the charge was attacker Lily Bachiochi, who proved nearly unstoppable with seven goals and five assists. Claire Kisielnicki added to the offensive onslaught with five goals and three assists, finishing with eight total points.
By halftime, the Bearcats extended their lead to 13–0 and continued to dominate in the second half, closing out the game with a 20–0 final score.
The Loggers struggled to find their rhythm on offense, managing just five total shots compared to Willamette's 39. Puget Sound's top scorer,
Cat Schilli, was held without a goal, and senior
Michaela Chen was similarly shut down despite generating three of the team's five shots. The Bearcats' high pressure defense stifled the Puget Sound offense and made it difficult for the Loggers to maintain possession.
Despite the loss, the Loggers continued to battle through all four quarters, with goalkeeper
Phoebe Crowther making nine saves under constant pressure. Defensively,
Kylie Sullivan and
Pier Pomeroy led the effort with several ground balls and forced turnovers.
The Loggers head to Parkland on Wednesday, April 9, to take on cross-town rival Pacific Lutheran. Opening draw is set for 6 p.m.
