TACOMA, Wash. -- In a physical game, the Loggers put pressure on the Bruins, coming out on top 4-1 in a fantastic start to Northwest Conference play.
How it Happened
Both teams started with some pent-up energy, as the Bruins committed six fouls in the first 15 minutes of the game. The Loggers took advantage of all of the free kicks, firing the first five shots of the game.
Rhys Foote continued his strong play, slotting in the Loggers' first goal of the game on a smooth pass from
Kody Carmel. Foote now has four goals in four games played and was dominant in this one early.
The Loggers continued to apply offensive pressure and started to find a nice shape in their formation. This led to a goal by
Sebastian Telles in the 39th minute, as Foote found him in the center of the box. Puget Sound took a 2-0 lead into halftime, setting themselves up for a good second half.
Jackson Smith decided to get in on the fun, as
Vinney Self played a great through ball to Smith, who darted around the keeper to make it 3-0. Fox bounced back with a goal by Carson Tapia in the 76th minute, but the Loggers kept pushing.
After a lucky break led to the ball landing in
Rhys Foote's lap, he found his way around the keeper and made it 4-1. Fox continued to apply pressure, but the Loggers didn't break, winning the game 4-1 and securing a six-point weekend.
