FOREST GROVE, Ore. - - The Loggers played to a 0-0 draw against the Pacific Boxers Friday evening at Hanson Stadium.
How it Happened
The opening half proved to be evenly matched with both teams trading early attempts. Mathijs van Panthaleon van Eck tested the Boxer's keeper, getting a shot off six minutes in.
The first forty-five minutes were defined by physical play and contested balls in the midfield.
With both backlines holding firm and limiting opportunities, restricting Puget Sound to just two shots in the first half, the remainder of the game saw the ball back-and-forth across the center circle before heading into the break, tied at 0-0.
Puget Sound came out of the break with a massive offensive push, shifting the momentum by unleashing 12 shots in the second half, while limiting the Boxers to just one.
The attack started when Charlie Reisman fired a quick shot seconds into the half, later following up with shot on target that forced a save from the goalkeeper.
Jackson Smith kept the pressure up with four shots across the game, in a dramatic attempt in the final minute that just missed securing a late win for the visitors.
With the Logger defense standing strong and limiting the action, goalkeeper Mason Allison needed only one saved to anchor the backline for the full 90 minutes, securing a road clean sheet.
