Loggers Secure Road Shutout Behind Rookie's First Career Goal

PORTLAND, Ore. - - Puget Sound men's soccer picked up another 1-0 victory on the road against Lewis & Clark on Sunday afternoon, capitalizing on a first-half set piece to remained undefeated in conference play.

How it Happened

The Loggers came out aggressive right from the start, taking two quick shots in the first minute of play courtesy of Rhys Foote and Charlie Reisman. They kept up the offensive surge as Foote put another attempt on frame at the 11th minute.
Puget Sound's persistence paid off in the 30th minute when Owen Foley served a free kick towards the back post. Mathijs van Panthaleon baron van Eck connected with the ball to bury it in the back of the net, putting the Loggers on top 1-0.

Late in the half, the River Otters were reduced to 10 men following a red card in the 45th minute, giving Puget Sound the advantage heading into the break.

Coming out of halftime with the lead, the Loggers continued to push forward, utilizing their depth through consistent substitutions. Jackson Smith generated a dangerous scoring opportunity, forcing a save from the keeper in the 77th minute.

Defensively, Mason Allison anchored the back line, securing three saves on the day to keep Lewis & Clark off the scoreboard to seal the 1–0 clean sheet.

What Happens Next

The Loggers return home to Baker Stadium on Saturday, October 10, when they host Whitworth at 12 p.m.
