TACOMA, Wash. - - The University of Puget Sound women's lacrosse team officially opened their 2026 season at Baker Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Facing off against Lewis & Clark, the Loggers showcased a determined spirit and a glimpse into the program's future with several freshman making an impact on the field.
How It Happened
Freshman goaltender Ebeth Kline had a solid collegiate debut, anchoring the Logger defense with a gritty performance. Kline was a force in the net, finishing the game with 13 saves.
The Loggers' offense sparked in the second half, led by senior Cat Schilli. Schilli capitalized on a man-up opportunity in the third quarter to fire home the team's first goal of the season off an assist by Hailey Woodard. This goal marked the 94th of Schilli's career, moving her closer to the century mark. In addition to her scoring, Schilli was a workhorse across the field, recording four ground balls and a caused turnover.
Junior Maggie Ott added to the scoreboard in the fourth quarter, finding the back of the net to secure her 29th career goal. Ott has been a reliable scoring threaat for the Loggers, recording four shots and three caused turnovers.
The home opener provided a valuable foundation for the Logger squad. With veteran leadership and new talent, ready for their season ahead as they continue to build at Baker Stadium.
