Schilli Nets Three in Loss to River Otters

TACOMA, Wash. - - Logger lacrosse faced a tough offensive opponent in Lewis and Clark on Sunday afternoon, falling 25–5.

How it Happened

The Loggers responded with lightning speed after the River Otters opened the scoring. It took less than a minute for Willa Twomey to secure a critical draw control transition the ball quickly to Cat Schilli, who fired home the equalizer to make it 1–1.

The momentum stayed with the Loggers as they continued to pressure the defense. Less than three minutes later, Schilli struck again, this time off a feed from Hailey Woodard, giving Puget Sound the 2–1 lead.

Lewis and Clark took control of the possession in the second quarter, but the Loggers remained aggressive. Puget Sound forced the keeper into action with two strong shots on goal and earned a free position attempt, refusing to back down despite the scoring run from the visitors.

In the third-quarter, the Loggers capitalized on their set plays. Woodard drew a foul and remain composed, converting a free-position shot for her first goal of the day and the Loggers' third.

Puget Sound's persistence paid off again in the final period. Within the first three minutes of the fourth quarter, Maggie Ott took advantage of another free-position opportunity, rifling a shot into the back of the net.

The Loggers closed the game exactly how they started it, with a connection between Twomey and Schilli. In the final minute of regulation, Twomey found Schilli for her third goal of the afternoon, securing the hat trick and ensuring the Loggers fought until the final whistle.
