SALEM, ORE. - - The Loggers dominated on the road Saturday, sweeping a doubleheader against Willamette.
How it Happened
Game 1
Puget Sound jumped out to an early lead and held on for a narrow win to start the day. Charlie Deggeller wasted no time, launching a solo home run to right field in the first inning to put the Loggers on the board. The offense struck again in the third, when Matt Churchill delivered a three-run blast to left field, scoring Kahiau Teruya and Deggeller to extend the lead to 4-0.
While the offense quieted down in the middle innings, highlighted only by a Jonah Velsaco single, the pitching was strong. Charlie Decker worked through the middle innings, striking out three and allowing five hits. Harley Eschliman took over, racking up two strikeouts and just two hits.
Loggers take the first game 4-3.
Game 2
Kellen Krebs got the Loggers started in game two with a three-run home run to right field, scoring Teruya and Deggeller to put Puget Sound up 3-0 immediately.
After a stretch of base hits, the Loggers blew the game open in the top of the sixth. The rally began with a Deggeller double to center, followed by a flurry of hits. Cooper Allen singled with Krebs following shortly after, scoring Deggeller. Churchill followed with an RBI single to score Allen. Isaac Fendel delivered a clutch pinch-hit single, plating Krebs on a Bearcat error. Ryan Spero singled home Churchill, and Preston Crockett capped the inning with a base hit that brought Spero and Fendel across the plate.
Puget Sound added three runs in the ninth, fueled by a two RBI double from Churchhill and a sacrifice fly from Armand Lettiere. The pitching staff maintained control throughout, limiting the Bearcats to just three runs on the day to seal the 12–3 win.
Braden Blackwell earned the win after a solid start with just three hits to record three strikeouts. The relief effort was anchored by Mason Seay, who put on a show coming out of the bullpen. Seay mowed down the Bearcat lineup, racking up six strikeouts.

The Loggers look to complete the series sweep tomorrow, Sunday, April 19. First pitch is scheduled for 12 PM.
