Loggers Battle to Draw 2-2 in Thriller vs. Cougars

TACOMA, Wash. - - Logger women's soccer battled to a 2-2 draw against Azusa Pacific on Thursday at East Field.

How it Happened

The Cougars struck first when they found the back of the net in the 41st minute to give themselves the lead heading into the second half.

Puget Sound answered in spectacular fashion when Anya Dubois sent a ball across from the right corner to freshman Kaitlyn Osada, who buried her first career goal in her first collegiate start to level the score at 1–1.

The Loggers didn't stop there. Just three minutes later, Madi Jarzynka delivered an impressive finish off a through ball from Sydney Boyd. Her initial shot was saved, but she stayed with the play and bounced on the rebound before the keeper could get a hand on it, giving Puget Sound a 2–1 lead.

With back-to-back goals, the Loggers looked to lock down the result defensively, but the Cougars kept pushing and tied the match on a corner kick, 2–2 in the 84th minute.

The game was physical throughout, with five yellow cards issued between the two sides. Puget Sound finished with an 8–6 edge in shots, while Azusa Pacific held a 12–8 edge in fouls.

What Happens Next

The Loggers return to action on Saturday, September 12, at 2:30 p.m. on East Field against Wheaton College.
