TACOMA, Wash. - Finishing with 12 blocks, including six from senior Kalli Kamphaus (Manson, Wash.) and five from sophomore Bre Boyce (Kent, Wash./Kentwood), the 22nd-ranked Puget Sound Loggers made quick work of the visiting Linfield Wildcats, 25-15, 25-17, 25-16, in a Northwest Conference volleyball match on Friday evening at Memorial Fieldhouse in Tacoma, Wash.

In the first set, the Loggers (11-4, 5-2 NWC) got off to a quick start, building a 7-1 lead to force Linfield to call a timeout.  Puget Sound continued to stay up on the 'Cats, never letting Linfield within four points, as the Loggers collected the 25-15 victory.  Boyce got off to a hot start on her own, posting four kills in the first set alone.

In the second set, it was Brynn Blickenstaff (Eagle, Idaho) who stepped up, putting down four kills while Kamphaus was a force on the net, sending down four of her six blocks at the Loggers collected a 25-17 victory to take the two-set lead.  Puget Sound had just seven kills in the second frame but Linfield committed 12 attack errors to give the Loggers the set victory.

In the third and final set, the Loggers jumped out to an 8-2 lead but the Wildcats fought back to get within three.  Puget Sound put the pedal to the metal again, using an 8-3 run to put the set out of reach as they picked up the three-set victory.  The Loggers put down a match-high 13 kills in the third set, hitting .273 to collect the win.
