MCMINNVILLE, Ore. – The Puget Sound volleyball team passed
its first NWC road test on Friday as it swept Linfield 25-23,
25-12, 25-20. The Loggers (7-4, 2-1) were led by 12 kills from
Jackie Harvey and a trio of Loggers that reached double digits in
digs.
Harvy, a freshman from Santa Barabara, Calif., pounded a
career-high 12 kills in the three-set match as the only Logger to
reach double digits in kills. Juliette Witous, Kris Sumida and
Stephanie O'Connor each reached double digits in digs. Witous
led the Loggers with 17 digs in the match.
The Loggers once again dominated at the net, compiling nine
blocks to the Wildcats five. The Loggers also held the Wildcats to
a .055 hitting percentage, including a -.067 percentage in the
second set. Meanwhile, the Loggers hit a .179 percentage in the
match to highlight the sweep.
The Loggers continue their conference schedule tomorrow when
they take on Willamette at 7 p.m.
