No. 16 Loggers Sweep Through Linfield

Box Score

TACOMA, Wash. – The 16th-ranked Puget Sound volleyball team made it a clean sweep through the first weekend of NWC play with a 25-22, 25-23, 25-19 win over Linfield on Saturday.

Jackie Harvey led all hitters with 10 kills while Brynn Blickenstaff added six kills and hit a team-high .267.

"I like the fact that we are 2-0 opening up conference this weekend," said head coach Mark Massey. "We still have a few things to work on to play a little bit more consistently, but we will take care of those in the next couple of days in practice."

Linfield (4-6, 0-2 NWC) received eight kills from Kailana Ritte-Camara, but hit just .017 as a team in the match. The Loggers had five total team blocks to the Wildcats one.

Stephanie O'Connor tallied 14 digs and six kills.

The Loggers sprinted out to an early lead in both the first and second sets. However, the Wildcats refused to go without a fight and rallied late to push the Loggers. In the end, the Loggers emerged victorious in both sets and controlled much of the third set to earn the victory.

The Loggers have a short turn-around with a trip across town to Pacific Lutheran scheduled for Wednesday.
