Linfield Completes Sweep Of Loggers

Box Score

TACOMA, Wash. – Linfield finished a three-game sweep of the Puget Sound baseball team with a 14-0 win over the Loggers (4-21-1, 1-11 NWC) on Monday. The Linfield bats erupted in the second inning to establish the early lead.

Linfield scored four runs in the second and four more in the third to take an early 8-0 lead. Tim Wilson and Jordan Harlow led the offensive charge with three RBI each. Harlow also went 3-for-4.

While the Wildcats built their lead, the Logger bats struggled to get going. Linfield pitcher Zack Brandon was perfect through six innings before Connor Savage drew a leadoff walk and Jake Boley singled to put runners on first and second with no outs in the seventh. However, Brandon shut down the rally without allowing a run.

The Loggers threatened again in the eight when Johnny Hosmer singled to lead off the inning and later advanced to second when Andrew Grady was hit by a pitch, but both were stranded.

Linfield continued to pad their lead when they manufactured a run in the fifth, scored two more in the sixth, and added one run in each of the last three frames.

The Loggers head down to Newberg this weekend for a three-game series at George Fox.
