Box Score TACOMA, Washington – There's no better time to turn the season around than during Homecoming + Family Weekend. The Puget Sound football team looks to snap a three-game losing streak when it hosts Lewis & Clark on Saturday, Oct. 22. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
A Hall of Fame halftime
During halftime of Saturday's game, the Loggers will honor the five members of the Puget Sound Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2016: Andrea Bointano Donovan, Kristina Goos France, Randy Hanson, Wanda Howlett, and the late Jack McGee.
Fortune rising
Hans Fortune broke Puget Sound's all-time single-season passing record with 2,878 yards in 2015, and he's been even better this fall. Through five games in 2016, Fortune is averaging 336.8 passing yards per game. He averaged 319.8 passing yards per game last year. Fortune is also on pace for nearly 29 passing touchdowns this season, after finishing with 25 last year.
Schon the way
Brennan Schon leads the NWC with 119.2 receiving yards per game this season. He set the Logger program record with 1,074 receiving yards last year, and he's on pace for 1,073 yards this year. Schon has at least eight receptions in four games this year, including a career-best 14 at Whitworth.
Double the haul
Dustin Harrison leads the league with 9.4 receptions per game, and Brennan Schon is second with 8.4. Harrison has 441 receiving yards on the season. He and Schon combine for 1,037 of the Loggers' 1,787 yards through the air.
In a rut
The Loggers have lost three consecutive games (Willamette, Whitworth, George Fox), which is a far cry from the program's turnaround in recent years. Dating back to the 2014 season - through the first two games of 2016 - the Loggers had won nine out of 12 games.
Scouting Lewis & Clark (0-5, 0-3 NWC)
The Pioneers are in the midst of a 28-game winless streak as a program. Their last win was against Puget Sound, 60-30, on October 5, 2013. This season, Lewis & Clark has posted 40 points through five games, and the defense has surrendered at least 50 points in each of the past three games. The Pioneers kept it close with Pomona-Pitzer in the second game of 2016, but Lewis & Clark came up just short, 21-17.
