Crispell pitches well in a 5-1 loss to Linfield

TACOMA, Washington – Eric Crispell allowed just one earned run, and Corey Roberts collected three hits and an RBI, but the Puget Sound baseball team lost at home to Linfield, 5-1, on Tuesday.

Making his second start of the season for the Loggers (11-19, 7-14 NWC), Crispell tossed six innings, struck out five, and scattered seven hits. Linfield's (21-10, 16-5 NWC) four-run seventh inning stood as the difference.

Roberts knocked in Puget Sound's only run with a single through the right side that scored Layne Croney – who reached base with a double.

The Loggers host Cal Lutheran for a non-conference matchup on Thursday, April 13, at 3 p.m.
