A pair of errors costly in loss at Willamette

Box Score

UPDATE: Official scoring was changed several hours after this game to reflect one Puget Sound error and one unearned run.

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound baseball team surrendered five unearned runs in an 8-2 loss at Willamette Sunday afternoon. The Loggers committed two errors in the game.

Puget Sound (15-15, 9-10 NWC) entered the third inning in a 4-0 hole, but the Loggers cut the deficit in half with a two-out rally. The first two Loggers to bat in the third were retired consecutively, but then Connor Dunn reached base with a single. Kyle Strash followed with a single of his own, putting runners on the corners.

Cal Muramaru and Jack Gries followed with consecutive RBI singles for Puget Sound's only runs of the game.

The Loggers and Bearcats conclude their series with a doubleheader Monday, April 8, at 1 p.m.
