Puget Sound opened the scoring in the first inning, and the Loggers scored in every stanza except for one.

With two outs in the opening frame, Dylan Joyce drew a walk and Jonas Kim followed with a single through the right side. The next batter, Jack McCullar, ripped an RBI single to centerfield.

The Bearcats took a 2-0 lead in the second inning, but the Loggers reclaimed an edge in the third. Kyle Strash earned a one-out walk, and Kim smacked a single up the middle. McCullar came through big again, this time with a two-run double. Clayton Waltz immediately followed with an RBI single to give the Loggers a 4-2 lead.

The Bearcats were undettered and scored four runs in the fourth inning. But the Loggers erupted for six runs in the fifth stanza. The rally began with consecutive singles by Kim and McCullar. Following a wild pitch that allowed both runners to advance, Waltz delivered a two-run double. Waltz then scored on a wild pitch to give the Loggers an 8-7 lead.

Later in the inning Joyce cushioned that lead when he stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and hit a two-run single past the diving shortstop.

Kim, McCullar, and Waltz each went 3-for-4 at the plate. McCullar and Waltz both totaled three RBI. William Gross had a two-hit game in the win.

Puget Sound's 14 hits stand as the second-most this season (20 vs. Whitworth, Feb. 27).
