Box Score 2 TACOMA, Washington – Gio Parascondola's first-career hit was a home run, and Jesse Awa homered for the second time this season, but Pacific Lutheran won both ends a doubleheader against the Puget Sound baseball team at Logger Field Saturday afternoon. The Lutes won the first game, 12-1, and they took the second game, 16-2.
Parascondola came into pinch hit to leadoff the bottom of the fourth inning of the second game, and he belted a no-doubt solo shot to left field.
Earlier in the game, Awa smacked a solo home run in the second inning.
Owen Shellhammer suffered a tough-luck loss in the first game. It was his first loss of the season. Shellhammer worked a career-high 7.1 innings, and he allowed only two earned runs while striking out seven. He left the game with two runners on and one out in the top of the eighth inning, and the Lutes wound up erupting for 12 runs in the stanza.
The Loggers and Lutes have another doubleheader Sunday, April 11, starting at 12 p.m.
