Box Score 2 TACOMA, Washington – Davis Miller outstanding on the hill, and Dylan Joyce and Clayton Waltz both went yard, but the Puget Sound baseball team both ends of a doubleheader against Whitworth Sunday afternoon.

Miller allowed just one earned on six hits in eight inning – and he struck out eight – but several defensive miscues allowed the Pirates to claim a 3-2 win. Puget Sound committed four errors in the game, allowing for two unearned runs in the close game .
The Loggers took an early 1-0 in the first inning. Kyle Strash led off with a single, and he eventually came around to score in a single by Jonas Kim.
Joyce made it a 2-0 game by belting his 11th home run of the season to left field in the third inning. He is now tied for the fourth-most single-season home runs in Logger history.
The Pirates scored twice in the seventh inning, one of which was unearned. Whitworth claimed a 3-2 lead by scoring another unearned run in the eighth.
Each of the top four hitters in Puget Sound's lineup collected two hits: Strash, Joyce, Kim, and Shane Himeda.

Waltz ripped his fifth home run of the season in the fourth inning, but the Pirates scored five runs in the fifth inning and four more in the seventh to run away with the series finale.
The game was tied, 1-1, entering the bottom of the fourth inning. AJ Morioka led off with a single down the left-field line, and Waltz immediately followed by clearing the outfield fences to give Puget Sound a 3-1 lead.
The Loggers return home for a non-conference game against Pacific Lutheran Tuesday, May 4, at 4 p.m.
