Box Score TACOMA, Washington – Grant Mannino hit his first-career home run, and Gio Parascondola drove in six runs as the Puget Sound baseball team beat Pacific Lutheran, 17-12, in a 7-inning non-conference game at Logger Field Tuesday. It was a makeup game from the March 5-7 weekend.
Mannino blasted a three-run home run to left field as part of a nine-run second inning for Puget Sound. The round-tripper was one of only two hits during the big rally, as the Lutes walked six batters and committed an error.
Right before Mannino's homer, Aaron Tom hit a two-run double with the bases loaded.
Half of Parascondola's RBIs came in the sixth inning when he hit a bases-loaded double that allowed all three runners to score.
The Loggers used 11 pitchers in the game, and Myles Stearns earned the win after pitching a hitless fourth inning.
Spencer Marsten drove in two runs and scored twice in the winning effort. Shane Himeda scored three times, despite not getting a hit.
The Loggers round out the Northwest Conference season at Whitman, May 8-9.
