TACOMA, Wash. - The young Puget Sound women's tennis team saw
what the top of the Northwest Conference looked like on Saturday as
they fell to the seven-time defending NWC champion Linfield
Wildcats, 9-0, in a NWC match on Saturday at the UPS Tennis
Pavilion in Tacoma, Wash.
The Wildcats, who won their 100th consecutive Northwest
Conference match, should their strength in doubles play, sweeping
all three positions to take an early advantage leading into singles
play. In singles play, it was much of the same as the 'Cats
scratched out the Loggers in straight sets in all six singles
matches collect the victory.
The Loggers will hit the road next weekend as they travel to
Willamette on Friday before returning to take on Pacific Lutheran
at home on Sunday, Feb. 22.
