Loggers Fall In Season Opener

WALLA WALLA, Wash. - Opening up the 2009 Northwest Conference schedule, the Puget Sound Logger mens tennis team faced off against NWC-power Whitman, falling to the 20th-ranked Missionaries, 9-0, on Friday evening in Walla Walla, Wash.

Whitman won in straight sets in all three doubles matches to take the early lead and things didn't get any better for the Loggers in single play. While the Loggers managed to win a few games, Whitman again swept through singles play to collect the 9-0 victory.

The Loggers will look for their first win of the season when they travel to Spokane on Saturday to take on the Whitworth Pirates, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
