WALLA WALLA, Wash. - In their first match of an Eastern
Washington road trip, the Puget Sound Loggers were swept by the
Whitman Missionaries, 9-0, in a Northwest Conference women's tennis
match on Friday evening in Walla Walla, Wash.
In doubles play, the Loggers were swept by host Whitman.
The closest match came in the number two spot as the team of
Ada Yu (Salem, Ore./McKay) and Maddie Thiesse (Chanhassen,
Minn./Holy Family) fell to the regionally-ranked team of Hadley
DeBree and Alyssa Roberg, 8-3.
In individual play, Yu also had the closest individual match of
the evening for the Loggers in the fourth spot, forcing three sets
against Emily Rolsten before falling, 5-7, 6-2, 6-4.
The Loggers will be back in action again on Saturday when they
take on defending conference champion Whitworth in a match in
Spokane, Wash.
