Loggers Swept By 'Cats, 9-0

McMINNVILLE, Ore. - Sophomore Nick Kelley (Denver, Wash./Kent Denver) forced a third set in the top singles position but the Linfield Wildcats collected the sweep, defeating the Puget Sound Loggers, 9-0, in a Northwest Conference men's tennis match on Friday in McMinnville, Ore.

In doubles play, the Wildcats took care of the Loggers fairly easily, not allowing the Loggers to win more than three games in any of the matches.

In singles play, Kelley was able to force regionally-ranked Mark Magdaong into a third set before falling to the Linfield junior.  Senior Scooter Sabel (Sun Valley, Idaho/Community School) also forced a third set in the fourth position before falling to Mitchel Davidson, 6-2, 3-6, 10-7.

The Loggers will continue to look for their first win of 2010 on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Salem to take on Willamette.
