Whitman Swings Past Loggers, 7-2

TACOMA, Wash. - Opening up the second half of Northwest Conference play, the Puget Sound Loggers couldn't get luck to land on their side of the net, falling 7-2 to the Whitman Missionaries in a NWC women's tennis match on Friday in Tacoma, Wash.

The Missionaries took the lead following doubles play after sweeping all three pairs matches.  In singles play, the Loggers couldn't break through in the top four spots but were able to manage a pair of wins at the bottom of the lineup.

Sophomore Devin Fields (San Francisco, Calif./Lick-Wilmerding) earned a 7-5, 6-4 victory over Charlotte Scott in the fifth spot while senior Ashley Dombrow (Lake Forest, Ill./Ethel Walker School) picked up a 6-4, 7-6 victory over Dena Wessel.

The Loggers will be back in action on Saturday when they play host to defending conference champion Whitworth.
