TACOMA, Wash. - The Puget Sound Loggers picked up a pair of wins
in individual play but the Pacific Boxers took the rest as the
Loggers fell 7-2 in a Northwest Conference women's tennis match on
Sunday at UPS Tennis Pavilion in Tacoma, Wash.
The Boxers picked up three points in doubles play but the Logger
team of Ada Yu (Salem, Ore./McKay) and Maddie Thiesse (Chanhassen,
Minn./Holy Family) made them earn it in the second position,
battling with Dayna Wong and Rachel Mizuno before falling, 8-6.
In singles play, the Loggers picked up a win in the third
position as Thiesse played to a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Wong.
The Loggers also earned a point in the sixth spot as senior
Ashley Dombrow (Lake Forest, Ill./The Ethel Walker School) earned a
6-0, 6-3 win over Dawn Greene.
The Loggers hit the road next weekend, traveling to Lewis &
Clark on Friday before taking on George Fox on Saturday.
