TACOMA, Wash. - Heading into the final two weeks of the regular
season, the Puget Sound Loggers swept past the Lewis & Clark
Pioneers, 9-0, in a NWC men's tennis match on Friday at UPS Tennis
Pavilion in Tacoma, Wash.
The Loggers opened up a 3-0 lead after doubles play as the
maroon and white had no problem take care of the Pioneers.
The biggest win came in the third position as senior Scooter
Sabel (Sun Valley, Idaho/Community) and junior Andrew Timmons
(Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View) earned an 8-0 win over Quinn
Roth-Carter and Andrew Davy.
In singles play, the Loggers picked up straight set victories in
five of six positions. The closest match came at the top of
the lineup as sophomore Sam Finkleman earned a 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 win
over Peter Ray.
The Loggers will look for their second straight win on Saturday
when George Fox comes to Tacoma. Match time with the Bruins
is set for 10:00 a.m. at UPS Tennis Pavilion in Tacoma, Wash.
