Loggers Sweep Past L&C, 9-0

TACOMA, Wash. - Heading into the final two weeks of the regular season, the Puget Sound Loggers swept past the Lewis & Clark Pioneers, 9-0, in a NWC men's tennis match on Friday at UPS Tennis Pavilion in Tacoma, Wash.

The Loggers opened up a 3-0 lead after doubles play as the maroon and white had no problem take care of the Pioneers.  The biggest win came in the third position as senior Scooter Sabel (Sun Valley, Idaho/Community) and junior Andrew Timmons (Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View) earned an 8-0 win over Quinn Roth-Carter and Andrew Davy.

In singles play, the Loggers picked up straight set victories in five of six positions.  The closest match came at the top of the lineup as sophomore Sam Finkleman earned a 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 win over Peter Ray.

The Loggers will look for their second straight win on Saturday when George Fox comes to Tacoma.  Match time with the Bruins is set for 10:00 a.m. at UPS Tennis Pavilion in Tacoma, Wash.
