TACOMA, Wash. - Heading into singles play up by a point, the
Puget Sound Loggers collected wins in five of six positions as they
defeated the George Fox Bruins, 7-2, in a Northwest Conference
men's tennis match on Saturday at UPS Tennis Pavilion in Tacoma,
Wash.
All three doubles matches proved to be competitive but the
maroon-clad Loggers were victorious in two of three. The
Colorado duo of Nick Kelley (Denver, Colo./Kent Denver) and Mike
Cutter (Colorado Springs, Colo./Cheyenne Mountain) earned an 8-4
win over Juan Munoz and Nick Jenness in the top position.
In singles play, the Bruins earned a straight-set win in the top
position but the Loggers earned straight-set wins in the remaining
five to win their second straight match and strengthen their hold
on sixth place in the NWC standings.
The Loggers will head to Pacific Lutheran on Wednesday before
wrapping up the regular season on Friday at Pacific.
