Fast Start Paces Big Victory For Loggers

TACOMA, Wash. – Every Logger came on to the floor in a 93-49 victory for the Puget Sound women's basketball team over St. Joe's on Saturday night. The total team effort ended with the most points scored in a single game since December 19, 2005.

The Loggers (3-1) sprinted out to a 18-1 lead over the first five minutes and never looked back. St. Joe's (0-5) was held without a field goal for the first seven minutes as the Loggers continued to build a big lead.

Thirteen of the 14 Loggers that saw the floor contributed at least two points to the win. Kelsey McKinnis' 16 points was a game-high as she led four Logger in double digits. Lindsay Layland added 15 points and five rebounds while Jocelyn Riordan contributed 14 points and freshman Ashley Agcaoili added 11.

Sarah Stewart also led a game-changing effort on the block with 11 rebounds, including 10 on the defensive end. The Loggers outrebounded the Bears 64-29 in the game.

Janine Doran led the Bears with 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting. Overall, the Loggers held the Bears to 32.7 percent shooting on the night.

The Loggers will host Concordia tomorrow at 2 p.m. in Memorial Fieldhouse.
