Stevens Wins In Singles And Doubles But Loggers Fall

TACOMA, Wash. – John Stevens was a winner in singles and doubles for the Puget Sound men's tennis team but the Loggers (0-7, 0-7 NWC) fell 6-3 at Linfield.
 
Stevens earned his singles win in the #5 match with a 6-1, 6-4 defeat over Linfield's Ben Brewer. He teamed up with Abe Noyes in #3 doubles to defeat Brewer and Joel Trousdale 9-8 (7-5).
 
Linfield took the other two doubles matches with an 8-3 win at #1 and an 8-4 win at #2.
 
Three singles matches went three sets with Linfield winning two of them. Cody Levien won the #1 match for Linfield with a 6-3, 1-6, 6-4 win over Ben Miller. Zach Lyons took the #2 match for Linfield 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 over Michael Cutter. George Murphy earned a three-set win for the Loggers with a 0-6, 6-2, 6-2 win over Micah Roos.
 
Linfield captured straight set wins in the #4 and #6 single matches to aid in the victory.
 
The Loggers will take next week off for spring break before heading out on a four-match swing in southern California.
