TACOMA, Wash. – The Puget Sound women's tennis team fell 8-1 to undefeated Linfield on Saturday. Logan Thompson picked up the Loggers (3-6, 3-5 NWC) only point, keeping her unbeaten conference record intact.
Thompson defeated Lexi Thomas at #4 singles 6-4, 6-4 to avoid the sweep. However, the Wildcats took the match 8-1.
Abby Olbrich took the #1 singles match 6-0, 6-0 and Caroline Brigham defeated Jenna Gerdsen 6-3, 6-0 at #2. Maddie Thiesse fell 6-1, 6-1 at #3 to Kaila Nip while Kiana Nip won 6-3, 6-0 over Marissa Friedman. Kelly Watanabe also came away with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Josie Dow.
The Wildcats swept the doubles points, winning 8-3 at #1, 8-2 at #2 and 8-5 at #3.
The Loggers will take the next week off for spring break before heading down to southern California for a pair of matches.
