Bruins Drop Loggers 8-1

TACOMA, Wash. – Michael Cutter and Ben Miller earned the win at #1 singles but that was the only one of the night for the Puget Sound men's tennis team as it fell 8-1 to George Fox. The Loggers (0-5, 0-4 NWC) won their first point of the year but the Bruins (3-4, 2-1 NWC) swept the singles to secure the victory.

Cutter and Miller defeated Shawn Aldrich and David Munoz 8-6 at #1 doubles to earn the Loggers first point. However, Peter Brown and Justin McClain took an 8-2 win over the Loggers' George Murphy and John Stevens at #2 while Preston Mann and Drew Milton won 8-1 over the Loggers' Abe Noyes and Jake Peterson.

Mann went on to defeat Miller 6-4, 6-1 in #1 singles while Aldrich won 6-1, 6-4 over Cutter at #2. McClain won the #3 match 6-0, 6-1 over Murphy and Milton defeated Stevens 6-0, 6-1 at #4. Munoz won 6-0, 6-0 over Noyes at #5 and the Bruins Pax Magaway won 6-3, 6-3 over Michael Tieu at #6.

The Loggers host Lewis & Clark tomorrow at 1 p.m.
