TACOMA, Wash. – The Puget Sound women's tennis team sent off its seniors with a 7-2 win over George Fox in the Loggers home finale on Saturday.
The Loggers took two of three doubles points and proceeded to take five of six singles in the 7-2 win. Logan Thompson and Marissa Friedman won the #2 doubles match and Ada Yu and Maddie Thiesse came away with the win in #3 match for the Loggers. Both won by a score of 8-3.
Molly Beaumont and Shaina Inn teamed up to win the #1 match for the Bruins.
Thiesse and Friedman quickly put the Loggers one point away from clinching the match as both defeated their opponents by a score of 6-1, 6-1. Thiesse won the #5 singles match and Friedman took the #6 match.
Thompson clinched the match for the Loggers with a 7-5, 6-0 win in the #3 match. Josie Dow and Jenna Gerdsen added to the Logger total with a pair of three-set wins. Dow earned the 6-3, 1-6, 6-1 win at #4 and Gerdsen won 6-2, 1-6, 10-7 at #2.
Beaumont earned the Bruins only singles point with a 6-3, 6-1 win in the #1 match.
The Loggers finish up the regular season next week at Linfield.
