Logger Women's Tennis Opens Season With 7-2 Win

FOREST GROVE, Ore. – The Puget Sound women's tennis team opened its season with a 7-2 win at Pacific on Friday. The Loggers (1-0, 1-0 NWC) took five singles matches and two doubles matches in the win.

In the doubles, Allison Embernate and Malia Ford started things off with a quick 8-0 win in the #3 doubles match for the Loggers. Synclaire Waldron and Lillian Do defeated the Loggers' Maddie Thiesse and Josie Dow 8-2 in the #1 match but Logan Thompson and Marissa Friedman gave the Loggers the advantage with an 8-4 win in the #2 double match.

Thompson made quick work in her single match with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Amber Craviotto in the #3 singles match and Friedman won 6-1, 6-2 over Danielle Wicks in the #4 match. Jenna Gersen won in straight sets in the #2 match as did Dow in the #5 match.

Thiesse won the #1 singles match 6-3 (4-7), 6-2 over Waldron. Becky Scheller took Pacific's lone singles point at #6 with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Malia Ford.

The Loggers head over to George Fox tomorrow for another NWC match.
