ORLANDO, Fla. – The Puget Sound women's tennis team made it 3-for-3 on its spring break trip with an 8-1 win over Lawrence. The one point for Lawrence (8-9) came in the singles portion of the match.
In sweeping doubles, Maddie Thiesse and Allison Embernate cruised to an 8-1 victory in the No. 1 match while Jenna Gerdsen and Josie Dow won 8-2 at No. 3. Marissa Friedman and Logan Thompson edged out a 9-7 win at No. 2.
Thompson and Embernate both went on to singles and didn't drop a set as both won 6-0, 6-0 to clinch the match quickly. Friedman and Dow both won 6-3, 6-3 to score a few more points for the Loggers (9-3). Gerdsen scored the Loggers final point with a 7-6 (9-7), 7-5 win at No. 2.
The Loggers will look to make it a clean sweep over spring break when they take on Hollins tomorrow.
