Loggers Swept By Lewis & Clark

TACOMA, Wash. – The Puget Sound women's tennis team suffered a 9-0 sweep to Lewis & Clark on Friday night. It is the first time this season that the Loggers (3-3, 3-3 NWC) have been held scoreless.

The match started with the Pioneers (5-2, 4-1 NWC) sweeping through all three doubles matches in convincing fashion. The Pios then went on to win all six singles in straight sets.

Aurora Garrison defeated Maddie Thiesse in the No. 1 match 6-2, 6-1. Olivia Cornell won 6-3, 6-2 over Jenna Gerdsen at No. 2 and Gillian Lowe won 6-2, 6-2 over Marissa Friedman at No. 4. Josie Dow fell 6-3, 6-0 to Lisa Osepyan at No. 5 while Isabella Borris won 6-3, 7-6 over Malia Ford.

Logan Thompson fell for the first time in singles this year in two close sets. Claudia Lew took the win at No. 3 7-5, 6-4.

The Loggers will look to get back above .500 tomorrow when they host Willamette at 1 p.m.
