Whitworth Sweeps Loggers

TACOMA, Wash. – The Puget Sound men's tennis team fell 9-0 to Whitworth on Saturday.  Abe Noyes forced a third set for the Loggers (2-13, 1-10 NWC) but didn't capture the point in the deciding set.

Noyes lost the first set 6-4 but bounced back for a 6-3 win in the middle set. In the third set, Dustin McConnell cruised to a 6-1 win for the 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 win at No. 5. The Loggers dropped the other five singles matches in straight sets.

In doubles, Daniel Deuel and Jake Peterson put forth a hard fight at No. 2 before eventually falling. The duo lost 8-6 to Matt Goebel and Drew Adams. Graham Baker and Michael Cutter fell 8-3 in the No. 1 match.

The Loggers wrap up the 2013 campaign tomorrow when they welcome Whitman for a 10 a.m. match.
