Loggers Swept In Final Match Of 2013

TACOMA, Wash. – The Puget Sound men's tennis team fell 9-0 to Whitman in its final match of the season on Sunday. Seniors Michael Cutter and Michael Tieu played in their final match as Loggers.

Cutter teamed up with Graham Baker in No. 1 doubles but fell 8-5. Cutter also played No. 1 singles and forced a tiebreaker in the first set against Andy Riggs. Riggs was able to take the tiebreaker and went on to win in straight sets 7-6 (7-1), 6-2.

Baker also forced a first set tiebreak at No. 2 singles but fell 7-6 (7-4), 6-2.

Both Daniel Deuel and Jake Peterson fell 6-0, 6-2 while Noyes fell 6-2, 6-0. John Stevens lost the No. 6 match 6-1, 6-3.

Michael Tieu's final match came with John Stevens in No. 3 doubles. The duo fell 8-4.

The Loggers return the majority of their lineup next year and end the season with a 2-14 overall record and 1-11 in the Northwest Conference.
