WALLA WALLA, Wash.—The Puget Sound women's tennis squad wrapped up a brief two-match road trip east of the mountains with a 9-0 loss to Whitman Saturday in Walla Walla, Wash.

In singles play, Elizabeth Chao hung tough all match at No. 3 singles. The freshman from the bay area pushed extra games in both sets, but fell 7-5, 7-6 (7-5) to Erin Bell at No. 3 singles. Sarah Nielsen also hung tough at No. 5 singles, falling to Hannah Palkowitz 6-3, 6-4 in the match.

Also, Allison Embernate lost her first singles match of the year at No. 6 singles, falling 6-2, 6-0 to Allie Wallin.

The match started out in doubles play, which the No. 16 Missionaries swept 3-0. All three doubles contests finished 8-2.

The Loggers (5-3, 4-3 NWC) next embark on a three-match homestand, their final one of the season. They kick off the stretch with a match against Bellevue College on Saturday, March 29.
