Men's tennis continues spring break in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla.—The Puget Sound men's tennis team continued its spring break trip to Olrando, Fla., Tuesday with a match against Grinnell College, falling to the Pioneers 9-0.

The Pioneers won all three doubles matches to begin the contest. At No. 1 doubles, Jake Peterson and John Stevens put up a fight before falling 8-6.

Peterson would also hang tough in the singles competition, forcing a tiebreaker third set at No. 5 singles. He beat Will Hamilton 3-6 in the first set but fell in the second 6-3. Hamilton prevailed in the tiebreaking third set 10-4 for a 3-6, 6-3, (10-4) victory.

Colton Wright also tallied a few game wins at No. four singles. He lost 6-3, 6-3 to Caleb Kumar. Myles Rivera-Flam and Chris Severt also won five total games in the second and the sixth singles slots, respectively. 

Puget Sound concludes their spring break trip to Florida with an early match against Babson Thursday, March 20. That contest will begin at 5:30 a.m. Pacific time (8:30 a.m. Eastern).
