ORLANDO, Fla.—The Puget Sound men's tennis squad concluded its four-match spring break trip to Florida Thursday, falling 9-0 to Babson College in Orlando.
Colton Wright saw a strong day for the Loggers, hanging with Connor DeFiore at No. 5 singles. Wright won three games in the first set and forced a second-set tiebreak before falling 6-3, 7-6. Jake Peterson also won four games in his singles matchup, falling 6-3, 6-1 to Saif Rahim in the sixth singles position.
In doubles play, Wright teamed up with John Stevens at No. 3 doubles. The pair took on the Beavers' duo of David Garcia and Dom Wysolmerski and won five games before falling 8-5 in the pro set.
After wrapping up a stretch of four matches in three days in the Sunshine State, the Loggers (2-9, 1-6 NWC) return home and head back to Northwest Conference action. They have over a week off before next taking on Linfield in McMinnville, Ore. That match will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 4.
