PARKLAND, Wash.—The Puget Sound men's tennis team took on cross-town rival Pacific Lutheran Friday afternoon, falling 7-2 at the hands of the Lutes on the Pacific Lutheran campus in Parkland, Wash.

The Loggers' two points came in singles play with two seniors tallying wins against PLU. At No. 2 singles, Chas Stewart took down Sam Angel in straight sets at 6-2, 6-4 to extend his solo record to 4-2. John Stevens also won in singles play, tallying his fifth individual win of the season in a 6-4, 6-7(7-4), 1-0 super tiebreak victory. Both Stewart and Stevens have won their last two singles matches.

Pacific Lutheran won the other four singles matches and all three of the doubles contests. Despite losing all three doubles points, the Loggers hung tough in doubles play with two of their three teams winning at least five games. At No. 2 doubles, Stewart and Myles Rivera-Flam won six points before falling 8-6 to Neal Berg and Sam Angel, and at No. 3 doubles, Stevens and Jake Peterson tallied five game victories in their 8-5 loss to Jake Yannello and Spencer Herron.

Puget Sound (3-10, 2-7 NWC) will play its final three matches of the season at home in the on-campus Tennis Pavilion in Tacoma, Wash. They next host the Lewis & Clark Pioneers in a dual that begins at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 12.
