Men's tennis falls to Pacific

TACOMA, Wash.—The Puget Sound men's tennis team wrapped up its season series against Pacific Friday, falling 9-0 to the Boxers at the on-campus Tennis Pavilion in Tacoma, Wash.

The two teams began the match with doubles play. At No. 3 doubles, Daniel Deuel and Colton Wright hung tough against Pacific's Lorne Bulling and Jason Voss. The Loggers took five games of the pro set but fell 8-5.

In singles play, Myles Rivera-Flam forced a set tiebreaker in the first set of his No. 3 singles match. Both he and Bulling won six games each in the first set, but Bulling got the edge in the tiebreak, winning the first set 7-6(7-5). Bulling won the second set 6-1 to tally the victory.

At No. 2 singles, Chas Stewart won six total games before falling 6-2, 6-4, and Abe Noyes took five games before falling 6-4, 6-1 in the fourth singles position.

Puget Sound (3-12, 2-9  NWC) wraps up its 2014 season by hosting George Fox Saturday, April 19, at 11:00 a.m. That match will take again take place at the on-campus Tennis Pavilion in Tacoma.
