TACOMA, Washington – Joe McRoberts won at No. 1 singles for the Puget Sound men's tennis team, but the Loggers fell to No. 39 Pacific, 8-1, on Saturday. Mei Roen picked up a victory at No. 6 singles, but the Logger women lost at Pacific, 8-1.

McRoberts win in straight sets for the Loggers (0-5, 0-5 NWC), 6-4, 7-5. Chet Selis opened with a promising start at No. 5 singles with a 6-3 win in the first set. However, he dropped the second set, 6-4, and the tiebreaker, 10-5.
Despite losing her first set, Roen bounced back to win the second set, 7-5, for the Loggers (0-9, 0-6 NWC) The tiebreaker was even more harrowing, but Roen was triumphant, 11-9. Nicole Bouche battled into a tiebreaker in No. 2 singles after she won the second set, 6-2. However, Bouche's Boxer counterpart claimed the tiebreaker, 10-8.
The Puget Sound women next compete at Hope International on March 17. The men are off until April 2, when they travel to Willamette.
