Men's and women's tennis teams lose to crosstown Lutes

TACOMA, Washington - The Puget Sound men's tennis team hosted Pacific Lutheran to a 6-3 loss, while the women's team narrowly lost to the Lutes on the road, 5-4.

The men's three victories came during singles competitions. Joe McRoberts won at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-2. Riley Inn was also victorious by the same score at No. 4 singles. Chet Selis won at No. 6 singles, 6-3, 6-4. Daniel Deuel almost won at No. 2 singles after taking the first set, 6-3. He then dropped the second set and lost a heartbreaking tiebreaker, 10-7.

The women's team won two of its three doubles matches. Elizabeth Chao and Nicole Bouche took No. 1 doubles, 8-6. Claire Fitzgerald and Tressa Bild won at No. 2 singles, 9-7. Bouche won No. 2 singles, 6-4, 6-4. Fitzgerald dropped the first set at No. 5 singles, 6-4, but she rallied to win the next set 6-2, and the tiebreaker, 10-8.

The Logger men are at George Fox on Sunday, March 6, and the women host the Bruins at 10 a.m. on the same day.
