Senior Daniel Deuel competes in last home match of career

TACOMA, Washington – Senior Daniel Deuel played in his last home match as Logger, but the Puget Sound men's tennis team lost to George Fox, 9-0, on Sunday afternoon. The Logger women's tennis team lost on the road against the Bruins, 9-0.

Deuel, a four-year letter winner from Oakland, California, teamed up with Joe McRoberts for a tough battle at No. 2 doubles. The Logger duo lost to their Bruin counterpart, 9-7. Deuel also dropped his No. 2 singles match, 6-1, 6-2.

On the women's side, Claire Fitzgerald nearly rallied for a victory at No. 4 singles. Fitzgerald dropped the first, 6-2. However, the sophomore continued to battle but ultimately dropped the second set, 7-5.

The Logger men compete at Whitman on Saturday, April 16, at 11 a.m., while the women host Whitman at 9 a.m. on the same day.
