TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound men's and women's teams both defeated Willamette by a score of 6-3 on Saturday afternoon.

On the women's side, Elizabeth Chao, Tressa Bild, and Claire Fitzgerald each won their singles match. Chao won at No. 2, 6-0, 6-0, while Bild defeated her opponent 6-1, 6-3, at No. 3 and Fitzgerald won, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 4 singles.
In doubles play, Nicole Bouche and Chao won at No. 1, 8-5, while Bild and Fitzgerald won, 8-2, at No. 2.
The Logger men took a 3-0 lead in doubles competitions, with each team winning their match. Joe McRoberts and Riley Inn won in a tiebreaker, 9-7, at No. 1, while Daniel Deuel and Nicholas Lupan earned an 8-3 victory. Chet Selis and Andrew Struzenberg won 8-6 at No. 3.
In singles competition, Deuel won a marathon match at No. 2. After winning the first set, 6-3, he dropped the second set in a tiebreaker, 6-7 (5-7). He came back to win the match by winning the third set tiebreaker 10-5. Chet Selis won his singles match at No. 5, 6-1, 6-4, and Chris Severt earned the victory at No. 6, 6-1, 6-1.
Puget Sound next plays Linfield on Sunday, April 3 at 1 p.m. The women host the Wildcats, while the men will travel to McMinnville, Ore.
