Logger tennis teams fall to Linfield

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound men's and women's tennis teams lost to Linfield on Saturday, each by a 9-0 margin. The Logger women competed at home, while the Wildcats hosted the Logger men.

The Puget Sound women's top three singles players fought to close finishes. Lisa Owen lost in two sets (6-4, 6-4) at No. 1 singles. Nicole Bouche (No. 2 singles) and Elizabeth Chao (No. 3 singles) lost in tight matches down the stretch, both final scores of 7-5, 7-5.

All three Logger doubles teams lost by scores of 8-2.

On the men's side, both Graham Byron and Rajan Grad-Kaimal won sets in singles play. Playing at No. 5 singles, Grad-Kaimal won the second set, 6-2, but dropped the first set, 6-2, and the final set, 1-0. Byron won the second set at No. 6 singles, 6-2, after losing the firs set, 6-1.

The Puget Sound men host Pacific on Sunday, Feb. 19, at 1 p.m. The women return to action at home on Feb. 24 against Air Force.
